It’s time to beat those pandemic blues and get outside, as Canadians come together to celebrate the latest Winter Health and Fitness Week from February 14 to 20. With an emphasis on encouraging people to get out of their houses and moving with winter-themed sports and activities, it will be hosted with all the pandemic health protocols in place at all times.
“The COVID pandemic has really stretched everyone physically and mentally. We know that being active helps significantly with managing stress, anxiety and depression. I encourage Canadians to share your favourite winter activities and find out what fitness events are going on across Canada,” said Senator Marty Deacon.
This event will be hosted with the collaboration and cooperation of organizations such as Active for Life, ParticipACTION, the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Heritage. Sport for Life is proud to be on that list.
Olympian Nancy Greene Raine is a long-time supporter of this initiative, and is joined by many high-profile backers including Senator and Paralympian Chantal Petitclerc and Olympian and MP Adam Van Koeverden.
