Victoria, B.C. – Every individual embarks on a physical literacy journey. By developing physical literacy across the lifespan, individuals empower themselves to be better at work, better at physical activities and sport, have better mental health and happiness, and better engage with their community. This is the premise behind the International Physical Literacy Conference 2017 (IPLC2017), which takes place April 12-15 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario.

IPLC2017 will feature a variety of high-profile speakers, plenary presentations, panel presentations, individual sessions and active breaks, which will be delivered to delegates representing a variety of countries and many different sectors, including sport, recreation, education, health and government. With 120 speakers delivering 90 sessions, attendees will have plenty of physical literacy-infused topics to choose from.

One of the key elements of physical literacy is its inclusive approach, which is mirrored in IPLC2017’s theme: Physical Literacy for All. As such, the content of the event has been carefully shaped to cover the recreation, education, health, and sport sectors, while catering to educators, parents, researchers and practitioners. Physical literacy is best delivered through cross-sectoral collaboration, and IPLC2017 fosters an environment to ensure this can happen.

Registration for the IPLC2017 is open. The early-bird registration deadline is February 13. The program is now available. Book accommodation by March 20 to receive a discounted rate. Poster submissions will be open until January 31. For more information, visit the IPLC site.
