Sport for Life is proud to announce that Dr. Dean Dudley will be giving a keynote address at the International Physical Literacy Conference (IPLC) 2019 in Winnipeg, which runs from May 7 – 10. A senior lecturer and researcher at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, his focus is on creating evidence-based approaches to health and physical education.
During his address, Dr. Dudley will be speaking on the theme “A child’s rights to physical literacy as a fundamental human right” at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. He will share his experiences as an ongoing expert consultant to several UNESCO agencies, intergovernmental agencies, and not-for-profit groups, speaking at their conferences and appearing as a special advisor to various initiatives that aim to boost youth development and engagement.
Dr. Dudley has held numerous funded research grants and contracts totalling more than $800K as a principal investigator. He has published over 40 articles in leading peer-reviewed journals since 2010 and he currently serves as an associate editor of BMC Public Health and is the Guest Editor of The Journal of Teaching in Physical Education special issue on “Physical Literacy: Evidence and Intervention”.
