Businessman and President of B2ten to Deliver Keynote at the 2017 Sport for Life Canadian Summit
Friday, January 6, 2017
Victoria, B.C. – Calling upon the experiences of his business career and co-founder of B2ten, JD Miller will deliver the opening keynote on January 25, 2017. In his address entitled “Organizational Performance by Design”, Miller will examine various elements that underpin organizational performance and success in the sport and physical literacy sector.
Miller brings elements derived from a professional career spanning strategy, finance and negotiation to the pursuit of organizational success at B2ten, a privately funded endeavor that has helped select Canadian athletes train and prepare without limitation. These athletes have delivered several dozen Olympic medals for Canada over the past 7 years. In 2012, B2ten became an early and active contributor in the physical literacy space through its social enterprise “Active for Life”, whose purpose is to help Canada raise physically literate children from a young age. Through its website ActiveforLife.com parents, educators and coaches have access to fun activities, engaging articles and free resources to get kids active, healthy and happy. ActiveforLife.com generated over 1.4M page views in 2016.
Today Miller’s time is substantially devoted to community service. He sits on the board of directors and audit committee of not for profits such as Tourisme Montréal, the McGill University Health Centre Foundation and Montreal’s 375th Celebrations. He is a recipient of Canada’s Meritorious Service Cross.
The Sport for Life Canadian Summit takes place January 24-26, 2017 at the Hilton Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec. Registration for the Summit is open. The regular registration deadline is January 10.
