Introducing the School Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 Certification

The School Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 Certification equips educators with the knowledge and tools to create inclusive, movement-rich learning environments that support every child’s physical literacy journey. Educators who certify can expect greater confidence in integrating movement into daily lessons, leading to more engaged and focused students.
Certification Pathway
To certify, you’ll complete approximately 7 hours of learning across these components:
Self-Paced eLearning:
- Social and Emotional Learning for Educators (~1 hour)
Interactive Workshops (live online or in-person):
- Energize Minds, Empower Bodies: Practical Strategies for Movement in the Classroom
- Part 1: The Blueprint (~1.5 hours)
- Part 2: The Build (~1.5 hours)
- Physical Literacy Observation for Educators (~1.5 hours)
Pre-Recorded Webinar:
- Introduction to PLAYBuilder (~0.5 hour)
Assessments:
- Certification quizzes for each workshop and the PLAYBuilder webinar
Pricing
- Individual Certification Fee: $75 Includes eLearning access, pre-recorded webinar, and certification quizzes. Workshop access is separate (see below).
- Workshop Delivery Fee: $395 per session. Accommodates up to 30 participants—ideal for staff teams or professional development days.

How to Access Workshops
Here’s how educators typically complete them:
Post-Secondary Students: If your institution is part of Sport for Life’s Partnership Program, workshops are delivered within your curriculum at no additional cost. Simply purchase the $75 certification and complete the remaining content. Not sure if you qualify? Contact workshops@sportforlife.ca
Current Educators: Complete workshops through your school or district’s professional development opportunities. Once your required workshops are complete, purchase the $75 certification and finish the remaining content to certify.
Already completed some requirements? If you’ve previously completed any required eLearning courses or workshops, your certification cost will be discounted at checkout.
