Sport for Life Expands Post-secondary Partnership Program with Collège Boréal

Sport for Life has formed a new partnership with Collège Boréal d’arts appliqués et de technologie, expanding its “Post-secondary Partnership Program” to include French-language education. Set to begin in September 2025, this collaboration joins existing partnerships with institutions like Acadia University, Cambrian College, Algonquin College, and the University of Victoria, where the program is already active.

This initiative integrates physical literacy education into academic curricula, providing faculty with comprehensive workshop content and resources at no cost. Students benefit by accessing certification components directly through their courses, ensuring practical, career-relevant skills that prepare them for leadership roles in sport, recreation, and community development.

As part of their coursework, students will complete French-language Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 certification workshops, gaining valuable tools to design inclusive programs that foster lifelong participation in physical activity for people of all ages and abilities.

“We’re excited to welcome Collège Boréal to our network of educational partners,” said Thalia Moore, Senior Manager of Knowledge Scaling at Sport for Life. “This collaboration allows us to reach French-speaking communities and expand our impact, creating more opportunities for students to develop essential skills in physical literacy education.”

Post-secondary institutions interested in offering Sport for Life certification to their students in French or English are invited to explore similar partnerships. By working with Sport for Life, schools can enhance their programs while giving students valuable skills that support lifelong involvement in sport and recreation.
