Sport for Life Expands Post-secondary Partnerships with Algonquin College

Sport for Life is excited to welcome Algonquin College to its growing Post-secondary Partnership Program, further embedding physical literacy education into academic curricula. This initiative ensures students graduate with hands-on experience and recognized certifications, equipping them with career-relevant skills in sport, recreation, and physical activity.

Through this partnership, Algonquin College students will engage with Sport for Life’s Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 certification workshops as part of their coursework. These workshops provide essential knowledge in delivering quality sport and physical activity experiences, preparing graduates to lead in their fields.

“Our collaboration with Algonquin College reinforces our commitment to integrating physical literacy education into post-secondary programs,” said Thalia Moore, Senior Manager of Knowledge Scaling at Sport for Life. “By integrating these certifications into coursework, we’re providing students with valuable credentials that complement their studies and prepare them to make a lasting impact in the sport and recreation sectors.”

Sport for Life’s Post-secondary Partnership Program continues to expand, supporting institutions across Canada in delivering both theoretical and practical education in physical literacy. These partnerships empower students with sought-after skills, helping them stand out in the workforce.
