Are you ready to chart a new course?

The National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy (NAHPL) is preparing to host their first ever Summit from March 6 to 9, 2023 at the Newport Marriott in Rhode Island. Organizers hope to create an opportunity for professionals within the health and physical literacy sectors to come together, network, and brainstorm ways to mobilize into the future. Its theme will be “Charting the Course”.

Launched in 2021, NAHPL is a diverse organization that seeks to advance health and physical literacy initiatives throughout the U.S. and beyond – especially in hospitals, clinics, K-12 schools, higher education environments, health and physical education venues, and with organizations that work on adapted physical activity, mental wellness, social work, dance and sport. The academy hopes to grow and advance professional leaders who will interact and network at regional, national, and global levels to impact the lifespan of all children and adults.

The keynote speakers for the event include Christine Brennan, an award-winning sport columnist for USA Today and bestselling author, and Dr. William Potts-Datema, a professional who has held several national leadership positions including Chief of the Program Development and Services Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
