More than 20 colleges and universities across the country have now partnered with Sport for Life heading into 2026–27. These institutions are embedding certifications directly into their courses, giving students a professional credential alongside their diploma or degree.

Five institutions have joined the program since our last announcement:

  • Queen’s University — School Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 (Elementary)
  • Red Deer Polytechnic — Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 and School Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 (Elementary)
  • Trinity Western University — Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 and Quality Sport Leader – Level 1
  • University of Alberta — Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1
  • University of Regina — Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 and Quality Sport Leader – Level 1

Growth this year hasn’t come only from added partnerships. Many returning partners renewed their agreements and added a second or third certification pathway, bringing the program into new departments and courses at the same institutions.

St. Francis Xavier University now offers three pathways: Physical Literacy Leader – Level 1 and Level 2, and Quality Sport Leader – Level 1. Laurentian University, Collège Boréal, Georgian College, Red Deer Polytechnic, University of Regina, Trinity Western University, and the University of Winnipeg each deliver two.

How the Program Works

Through the Post-Secondary Partnership Program, Sport for Life provides workshop content to faculty at no cost. Students complete the workshops as part of their courses, then finish the remaining certification components on Sport for Life Campus at a reduced rate.

Partners choose the certifications that best fit their needs:
